Found this hotel excellent, the grounds were beautiful, staff friendly, spa and facilities excellent. The food served in the hotel was very good.
The only down side to this hotel very little around the hotel, Newton Aycliffe has little to see, but within 30 miles there numerous places to visit.Bar was a bit expensive, but you expect that in a hotel of this standard.
The room was beautifully decorated with a very comfortable bed and the gym facilities, swimming pool and spa were very good. The grounds were stunning and the hotel beautiful.
Unfortunately the hotel completely let itself down with the food which was expensive for the quality. The bar prices were also very expensive. Breakfast was also very poor. I would stay again but would eat somewhere else
spa facilities were fantastic, specially the steam room. to get all this included in the price was brilliant.
i like to go in the gym pool
The service was excellent, the spa facilities were well run, staff were very friendly and mostly efficient
Staff on Night Shift did not appear effective during a Fire Alarm situation. The Fire signage was not helpful and the rear exit from hotel was hazardous in the dark
very comfortable,in the right location, excelent pool and spa
Absolutely fabulour and faultless
Had to pay fot the internet
leisure facilities quite good , and breakfast was nice , staff quite friendly
evening meal pricey for what you got , service slow , steak hard to cut sent back . Drinks expensive
The hotel is set in lovely grounds and was everthing we expected and more from a country hotel. The reception staff were very welcoming and our room was of a high standard with views of the gardens. We ate in the restaurant and had room service, staff were very helpful although the hotel was very busy (being Easter weekend) they coped well and the food was delicious. We were so impressed that we are now thinking of booking the Hotel as our wedding venue.
The atmoshphere and the grounds
They fulfilled our request for interconnecting rooms which was helpful, the breakfast was up to a good standard. The swimming pool was small but nice.
The decor of the bedrooms and some of the public areas needs a refurb, colours are rather dingey. The outside play park could be really good but needs maintenance and cleaning, it is under trees and was very green and the slides very muddy.
Beautiful surroundings; polite, friendly and helpful staff. Great pool and leisure facilities and a place I would definitely return to and highly recommend! Fabulous relaxing romantic break in a tranquil luxurious setting.
Food was really expensive and average.
Second time visit for a two night relaxing break. Found the hotel to be just a good as the first time. Standard room was very spacous and was really a suite with chairs, table and a sofa in addition to the massive, very comfortable bed. Excellenct value from the dinner bed & breakfast deal. At dinner the menu partial al-a-carte, part table de hote. On table de hote you select from dishes printed in bold. The good point is there is then an overall price allowance per head and if you want something al-a-carte you only pay the extra.
Good location for a business visit and excellent resturant food with reasonable menu and attentive staff.
The bathroom was in need of a make over to modern satndards.
